The M.A. is Muslim Studies will equip you to:

  • Demonstrate skill in identifying and analyzing cultural issues.

  • Evaluate current strategies regarding the global mission of God among Muslims.

  • Demonstrate effectiveness in cross-cultural analysis, research, and writing about the global mission of God among Muslims.



Potential employment and service opportunities for graduates include:

  • Mission Service: Serve as a short-term to long-term missionary in cross-cultural service in the Muslim world; mission agency office support person; mission mobilizer.

  • Non-governmental Worker: Serve in a non-governmental organization (NGO) in the Muslim world or among Muslim immigrants to other countries.

  • Peacemaking: Serve as an advocate for peace where there is conflict among Muslims themselves and between Muslims and people of other faiths. 

  • Academic Careers: The thesis option track of the M.A. in Muslim Studies is designed to prepare you for further graduate work, especially a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies, Intercultural Studies, or a related discipline. With a Ph.D., you have the potential to teach at the college, seminary, and university level in North America and abroad.
